Some of the hosts were complete jerks, the couple nice ones were trying but failing to make up for them. No obvious reason to put my on the complete other side and ruin my vacation. I don't want to relive anymore of the details but will mention, the site I had originally reserved, and 5 out of the 7 other adjacent sites next to my group, went un-filled for the duration of the trip. Lesser known than its neighbor, Lake Tahoe. Until they said I had to leave my truck at my own site. If youre looking for a late summer-early fall getaway, Fallen Leaf Campground has your name written all over it. ![]() I spent a couple days driving back and forth because the walk to the group was too great with my babies. Then they moved me to another site but was still over a mile away from family and friends. Trailer barely fit and truck did not, hosts told me I could park sideways in the dirt. ![]() Hike along the shores of the crystal-clear alpine lake and marvel in the panoramas of the bounding craggy peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. I was fined for that and then charged to stay for the remainder of the vacation. When I showed up the 2nd with truck and trailer and I was told my trip was cancelled because I wasn't there for the first night. I was emailed that they wouldn't be open until the 2nd. If you are coming from the south, it is a left turn about 3/4 mile. If you are coming from the north, this is first right turn after Spring Creek Road (just after the 25 MPH right-hand curve). Take Highway 89 to the Camp Shelly/Tallac City Camps turn-off. 2 out of 5 overall: great grounds but it doesn't make up for the awful policies and workers.ĥ/5: nicely paved good room between spaces since sites are gigantic, it's a shame only one RV per site for those ones water insure for RV fill-up and they're building a dump station some pull through sites, close to lakes for recreation and very close to river for ambience.Ġ/5 for management and hosts: my reservation was scheduled for 6/1 to 6/9.
